TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF IN THE COVID CRISIS

I live in a noisy town covered with trees, birds, and people. Once filled with glowing shops calling out people lively, the town now looks deserted without any movement giving you a war-hit zone. Yes! we are indeed in the middle of the war, our hospitals filled with feverish bodies struggling for the last drop of oxygen which is nowhere to be found. They tell us it’s different this time, the virus has mutated, it’s a new strain, deadlier than the previous one, doesn’t differentiate between the 60yrs above and 18yrs below. The virus appears to be more democratic than the running authoritarian government that has abandoned its citizens. However, this is not the time to abandon your hopes, dreams, and zeal for life, more than anything you have to go to take care of yourself.

I hereby gladly present to you the Self-Care guide a succinct 5 key ways mode to uplift yourself from basic survival mode to a happy living mode.

1. LISTENING GOOD MUSIC

Music helps in relieving all that accumulated tension in the muscles, also relieving all the mind. A stressful mind causes anxiety which further affects our day-to-day work and thinking process. A peaceful mind is a force that we all need at this moment to overcome the fear and panic environment surrounding us.

Play your favorite genre, play romantic, or fill the room with some instrumental music to raise the vibration of your room, kitchen, or house. Words are vibrations, Sound is vibration, so are you and me. The beautiful musical piece can help you sleep, boost your mode, raise your spirit high. So, try playing those beats and let yourself be lost in the rhythm divine.

2. EXERCISE REGULARLY

Workout of any kind can add wonders to your life span. When we engage our body muscles in some sort of physical activity subjecting them to stress, we are getting those muscles to move and function actively and this I call real working. Life is all about movement, setting your body in movement is like feeding the body the elixir of eternal life.

A set of compound exercises every day for 15 minutes can help strengthen the pulmonary system by getting the muscles, working under stress in a pyruvic cyclic mode where less oxygen is available, increase blood flow to vessels. The pressure created during exercise on the lungs and heart is strengthening these organs. Exercising regularly reduces the risk of cardiac arrest, high blood pressure, cholesterol. Most importantly the body gets to prepare for stressful situations.

Put on the dancing shoes, play the music and get those muscles on the running mode. It’s time to Shake Baby!

3. EATING HEALTHY

What you eat, you become! Your immunity is your real weapon against viral infection. Eating healthy is the focal point. You can start by including seasonal vegetables, seasonal fruits in your diet. It’s always best to eat fresh therefore what is in the season is best to consume for every season offers something which intunes the body onto nature’s chord. Food is what sustains you, hence investing in your meal is the no. 1 priority. Consume lots of fluids like water, shakes, lassi, smoothie, take a rich multi-vitamin diet. Most importantly love and enjoy whatever you are eating.

4. TAKING CARE OF YOUR EMOTIONS

What you are feeling, you are manifesting in your life. When there is so much fear around you, you are bound to manifest dreadful things. Observe your emotions! Take care of how you feel, think happy thoughts, happy times. This shall pass. Around us, so many people are recovering, and countless people are fighting, working to protect us against the pandemic. If they are not giving up on you, then why are you?

You are stronger than you think.

5. ENGAGE YOURSELF IN THE HOBBIES

Try something creative. Let your emotions guide you to something you enjoy doing. Planting your kitchen garden, painting something using the colors, decorating the house, or even cleaning the house. My Papa hobby is cleaning and cleaning your room freshen up the room air, increasing the wind circulation, helps in removing the mental blockages. Yes, the added benefit is you get to sanitize your surroundings.
